I’m an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences at San Francisco State University.
I study professional issues in the field of speech-language pathology, including policy advocacy, labor markets, and team science. I also examine how communication sciences and disorders programs can best support students from underrepresented backgrounds. My current projects focus on teachers’ unions and psychological safety in cross-disciplinary teams.
My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research (JSLHR), Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in the Schools (LSHSS), Perspectives of the ASHA Special Interest Groups, and Communication Disorders Quarterly. Outlets such as The ASHA Leader have also covered my work.
